Just Got Made Weekender February 2016

Somerset House played host to the Just Got Made Weekender event on the 27th – 28th of February 2016, it’s been just over two weeks since and we thought we’d do a little write up for those of you who missed it, or for those of you who’d like to see the event from our eyes!

Just Got Made is a brilliant directory useful for all designer/makers, you’ll find like minded individuals to work on collaborations or that micro-manufacturer that will help you bring your ideas to life! The event itself, organised by Helen & Jo, was a two day event with workshops and talks on various subjects related to business and making. The even itself was buzzing with creativity from the ladies over at the I Make Knots stand demonstrating their finger knitting (which was awesome!) to Print Me Pretty showcasing their amazing printed fabric.. and that was just the one room I was in!

There were 800 visitors across the two days and I don’t think I’ve ever spoken so much in two days.. ever! It was so great to get out of our work shop in South Wales and actually meet our customers, chat to makers who are thinking about laser cutting and share our knowledge with everyone.

We displayed a huge variety of our laser cut and engraved materials from paper to wood and laser cut silks. We also have a range of our products from engraved signage, wooden cd cases to our bespoke hand crafted boxes.

We showcased work by Hello Sunshine by Jo Want and Lucy Alice Designs, two of our long standing customers who are so very creative!

If you picked up one of our flat pack ‘Build a Windmill’ kits make sure you get a photograph of it on social media, we’d love to see it sitting on your desk!

It was very long weekend, combining it with our drive to and from London but we loved meeting everyone and can’t wait to do it all over again soon!
